3rd Grade Native Americans unit

Native Americans

Exploring American Indians and Their Regions in 3rd Grade!

Our 3rd graders have been hard at work diving into American Indians, their regions, and their contributions to American life in Social Studies!

They've explored this unit through creativity, hands-on learning, and technology:
🎨 Created totem poles inspired by the Northwest tribes.
❄️ Experienced the benefits of blubber in a fun, hands-on experiment connecting to the Arctic tribes.
🖍️ Practiced critical thinking and creativity by turning a simple squiggle into an illustration that represented a specific tribe and explained the connection.
💻 Showcased their digital design skills using Canva to create infographics about the regional tribe's geography, shelter, food, clothing, and contributions to American life.

We're so proud of their hard work and curiosity as they explore how these incredible cultures shaped our nation's history! ❤️

Read Along with Me QR Code

Read Along with Me!

Have you noticed the QR codes on the front of some of our picture books from the library? Last year's 5th graders, recorded special read alouds for some of our books that our youngest readers enjoy. Simply scan the QR code with your phone, tablet, or laptop and follow along as students read the book to you!
