Next week, we are proud to celebrate Teacher Appreciation Week, a special time to recognize and thank the incredible teachers who shape, inspire, and guide our students every day. We are fortunate to have a team of dedicated and hard-working teachers leading the charge at GSES!
Our teachers do so much more than deliver lessons. They nurture curiosity, encourage perseverance, and create safe, welcoming spaces where every child can thrive. They go above and beyond to support students’ learning and well-being. We are looking forward to celebrating them this week, and we hope you will join us in helping ensure our educators feel the love and recognition they truly deserve. GSES PTO has a fun week planned, and we invite you to join them in showing your appreciation too. Our teachers are the best!

News & Updates
Reminders
We are excited about our upcoming Field Day events on Friday, May 9th and Monday, May 12th. Please note the following reminders:
Students are encouraged to wear sunscreen and bring a water bottle with their name on it. They may also wear hats and sunglasses. Sunscreen cannot be applied on the turf field, so please apply before school. Some activities involve water, so students may also bring a towel and change of dry clothes.
Guests may park in the GSES front parking lot or the WJMS parking lot. Please do not park in the GSES car rider lanes during afternoon Field Days. There is also no parking allowed on the cut-through road between GSES and WJMS so that emergency vehicles and buses have access.
Please remember that all spectators should remain on the track or in the bleachers. For the safety of our students, NO VISITORS WILL BE ALLOWED ON THE FIELD.
At the conclusion of Field Days, all students will walk back to their classrooms with their teachers. Due to dismissal time being so close to the end of our afternoon Field Day events, we will not be able to accommodate check-outs after 2nd, 3rd, 4th, or 5th grade Field Days. If you are planning to check out your child after Pre-K, Kdg, 1st, or Multi-Age Field Day, you will walk to the office for check-outs.
