Six JCSS Schools Named PBIS Distinguished Schools

Six JCSS Schools Named PBIS Distinguished Schools

Six schools within the Jackson County School System have been named PBIS Distinguished Schools by the Georgia Department of Education. The six schools were East Jackson Elementary, Gum Springs Elementary, Maysville Elementary, North Jackson Elementary, South Jackson Elementary and West Jackson Middle. Gum Springs Elementary and Maysville Elementary also earned the honor in 2024.

PBIS stands for Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports and the Distinguished Schools recognition honors schools within the state of Georgia which meet all five data categories set forth by GaDoe. Those categories include, but are not limited to, reducing office discipline referrals, in-school suspension and out-of-school suspension rates.
