GSES' Sheridan Named Presidential Award Finalist

GSES' Sheridan Named Presidential Award Finalist

Gum Springs Elementary School's Kasey Sheridan has been named a finalist for the 2024 Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching. Sheridan is the current Teacher of the Year at GSES and teaches Science Technology Engineering Arts and Mathematics (STEAM) at the school.

The PAEMST is the highest recognition that a kindergarten through 12th grade science, technology, engineering, or mathematics teacher may receive for outstanding teaching in the United States.

Historically, awardees receive a certificate signed by the President and a trip to Washington, D.C., to attend a series of recognition events and professional development opportunities. They also receive a $10,000 award from the National Science Foundation.
