Sheridan to Represent JCSS In Presidential Award Competition

Gum Springs Elementary STEM teacher Kasey Sheridan, the school's 2023 Teacher of the Year, will represent the Jackson County School System in the Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching.

The award is the highest honor in the nation for teachers and comes with a $10,000 award and a paid trip to Washington D.C. Sheridan will be recognized at the December Jackson County Board of Education meeting and will then submit an application for the competition in January.
